“And it is impossible to please God without faith…” – Hebrews 11:6 (NLT)
Faith grows in time and from your trials and experiences. We have, from time to time, experienced the love of God and the grace of Jesus Christ. However, the question is, are we missing out on the real fellowship with the Holy Spirit?
God has created a desire within each of us to cultivate a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit is essential for our spiritual growth. During this special time with the Holy Spirit, we will receive peace, intimacy, strength, understanding, revelation, hearing God’s voice, guidance, protection, correction, and other benefits.
To achieve this, we must enter the “Secret Place” (Psalm 91). What is the Secret Place? It is spending quality time with the Holy Spirit. It is not a quick prayer in the car or in the shower. It is that quiet time where meditation is done and the focus is on Jesus ALONE. Listening to the voice of God is of utmost importance.
As you wait in His presence, you’re developing your relationship with the Father. Let God help you choose the time; this discipline will bring great benefits.
Jesus knew when He left His disciples, they needed to “receive the power of the Holy Spirit” (John 202:22). With the challenges the early disciples faced, they needed added faith in their Saviour. God’s Holy Spirit empowered them to establish the Church, live righteously, and proclaim the Gospel (Acts 2). It was by faith that they waited in the Upper Room.
The Holy Spirit is the Source of all the gifts and ministries given to the Body of Christ for the common good of all (1 Corinthians 12:1-31). By these gifts, believers are able to access wisdom, knowledge, and faith for direction in making moral choices and develop moral character (Galatians 5:22-23).
It is the Holy Spirit Who creates a common bond among all Christians and it is by faith that we become ‘one’ in Christ.
The Holy Spirit led Peter, a Jew, to tell an Italian (Gentile), Cornelius, the Good News (Acts 11:11-12). Here, Peter extended his faith to His Lord’s command.
No godly, ethical standard can be attained by man’s effort alone, but only through the power of the Holy Spirit; He will bring the Divine Will to bear in all our decisions.
Believers, let us surrender, obey, and follow the Master’s Plan.
