Jesus Christ is the Fulfillment

“He was oppressed and afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; He was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He did not open His mouth.”

Isaiah 53:7 (NIV)

Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the sacrificial lamb. The book of Isaiah describes the Messiah as a meek and suffering servant. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth when about to be slaughtered  (Isaiah 53:7 – NIV).

Jesus’ birth, crucifixion (death), and resurrection are history’s most beautiful and rewarding. The great significance of the three kings’ gifts: gold (a symbol of kingship on earth), frankincense (worship), and myrrh (death and mourning) are of paramount importance. He fulfilled every prophetic Word from the Old Testament in these books: Daniel 9:24, Ezekiel 37, and Isaiah 53:12-13.

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us as we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten son of the Father, full of grace and truth – John 1:14. God sent His Son to earth for many reasons: to fulfill the law, to teach truth, to reveal God’s love, to bring peace, to heal the sick, to raise the dead, and to die for all of our sins.

The fulfillment of the promise of Christ for us through the cross is our hope that represents the forgiveness of sins and open heaven. God has lifted the sentence of condemnation from us so we can enjoy fellowship with Him – 1 John 1:7-9 – NIV.

Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s plan, which was prophesied by prophets thousands of years prior:

1. Prophesied – divide His clothes (Psalm 22:18). Fulfillment (Matthew 27:35)

2. Prophesied –  I am thirsty (Psalms 69:21).  Fulfillment – (John 19:28-29)

3. Prophesied – A cry of anguish (Psalm 22:1).  Fulfillment (Matthew 27:46)

4. Prophesied – Weakness and exhaustion (Psalm 22:14).  Fulfillment (John 19:34)

In the New Testament, the finished work of Christ on the cross was fulfilled. Now Jesus is the Door, the Light, the Way, and the Bread of life. Christ Jesus, Who died and was raised to life, is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us (Romans 8:34).

We are here to fulfill God’s purpose, know, love, glorify Him, and fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). He fulfilled and is fulfilling His part. Rest in Him.
