Knowing the Love of our God

“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!…” – 1 John 3:1 (NKJV)

God gave us the ultimate gift of His son, Jesus Christ, to redeem us. His love for us is unconditional and everlasting (John 3:16)

I remember growing up and frequenting the Adventist church with my great aunts, going to Sunday School ‘fully dressed,’ never realising or understanding what church was all about and Jesus’s everlasting love towards us. One thing I vividly remember and enjoyed, however, were the songs and hymns. They live in my long-term memory and play a role in my daily life even today. As such, I have a passion for Sunday school and the things of God.

Giving my life to Christ Jesus was never an option. I fell in love with God and reading His Word. I always meditate on His goodness and grace towards me. Now mature, I realised my great aunts nurtured me well by introducing me to God at that tender age. Lord, thank You for helping me and for Your reconciling love for us all.

Psalm 90:2 (NKJV) says, “Before the mountains were born You brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting You are God.” Moses acknowledged God’s unlimited power, control, and authority over all creation. He realised God is never constrained by time. He is our loving God and Father. Praise Him from Whom all blessings flow.

Prayer

Thank You, Lord, for Your perfect love, which casts out all fears from my life. Your amazing love shows me how to love others sincerely without any hypocrisy. Thank You, Jesus, I’m forever grateful. Amen.
