Dr Marcel Hutson is an ordained Reverend at First Assembly of God Wortmanville, and serves in several leadership capacities. He heads the First Assembly of God Parfaite Harmonie Outstation, the evangelism ministry, and is a Director on the Board of the non-profit organisation, Generation Next. Rev. Hutson is also a counsellor, mentor and guide, and overseer of the Christian Education Department. He serves the national education sector as the Chief Education Officer.
The evangelist, as he is affectionately known, began his journey at the First Assembly of God’s Church in 1996. In 2012, he was appointed pastor by the Assemblies of God body in Guyana. Dr Hutson has served in various departments/ministries, including vice president and president of the Men’s Ministry and secretary of the Youth Ministry.
Dr Hutson is a certified educator and has served the profession for more than 35 years. He earned a Doctorate in Transformational Leadership (DTL) from Bakke Graduate University, and Masters degrees in Education Planning and Management, and Management from the University of Guyana and Nova University, respectively. In addition to various other academic credentials, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from the Caribbean School of Theology, a Christian Workers Diploma from the Assemblies of God Bible College and an Associate Degree from the International School of Ministry.
Reverend Hutson is supported in ministry by his wife of 26 years, Elder Deborah Abigail Patricia Hutson. They are the proud parents of Master Yeshua Martin Hutson.
Elder Hutson serves in several ministries at First Assembly of God including Creative and Performing Arts, Media, Evangelistic, Youth, One child policy, Missionnettes and the Sunday School Department.
Elder Hutson is also a certified teacher who holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Education, and an Associate degree in Ministry from the International School of Ministry (ISOM). She is influenced by Romans 8:28, which says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose;” while Psalm 37:25 keeps Dr Hutson motivated in his ministry, “I was young, and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread.”
