Reverend Dr Yvonne Wilhelmina Osman is a Pastoral Advisor to the Bishop at the First Assembly of God Church, Wortmanville, and overseer to the Church’s Senior Citizens’ club.

Dr Osman came to First Assembly of God Church in 1955 as a Sunday School student and eventually became a Sunday School Teacher. She co-founded the Christ Ambassadors Ministry, commonly known as CA’s, at First Assembly and served on the National Christ Ambassadors Executive Body where she contributed to a thriving ministry known today as Youth Ministries. She also  served in leadership capacities in Missionettes, the Young Women’s Auxiliary group called Y’s, and Children’s Church as well as the National Director for Christian Education for the Pentecostal Assembly of the West Indies in Dominica, where she lived for almost a decade. In 2000, she was ordained as a Reverend within the Assemblies of God in Guyana.

Dr Osman holds a Doctorate in Transformational Leadership (DTL) from Bakke Graduate University, a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Guyana, is a certified professional Counsellor and a Cyril Potter College of Education qualified teacher.

She is the founder of Nehemiah Comprehensive School, a primarily remedial institution birthed from her passion for equal opportunities for all learners. 

Dr Osman was married to the late Raschid Osman for 41 years, until his death in 2015. Their union produced a daughter, Ruth Osman-Rose, a popular jazz musician. Reverend Dr Osman is the proud grandmother of one.

Her favourite Scripture text is truly a testament to all she has achieved and what she continues to believe, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13.
