Leaning on Jesus for Safety

“The  name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”

Proverbs 18:10 (NKJV)

In Biblical times, a tower was a stronghold for defence or protection. Sometimes, we fight this rather than lean on the strong tower of God when we’re tired and weak. We seek other things for safety and support, such as a career, relationships, or physical comfort. Don’t be like the rich man who looked for strength in his wealth; be like King Solomon, who didn’t depend on riches but instead asked God for wisdom, where he could gain strength to face all situations.

God, who’s all-powerful and in control of all our situations, provides true comfort and security.

In reading and understanding Jeremiah 29:11, we should realise that God has magnificent plans for us; there is comfort and hope in Him. Thus, as believers, we can hope and allow God to be our tower of strength at all times. Don’t ever be satisfied with the status quo. Do not accept your current situation. Look beyond your needs and your checking account balances to the wealth that your Heavenly Father possesses. Yes, as joint heirs, this is already ours.

God knows us, He formed us in the womb. He has consecrated us, those who believe in Him. He has appointed us as Prophets to the nations. Hence, we can lean and depend on Jesus for solutions in every situation, wherever He sends us.

Get to know God for yourself today, and enjoy a closer walk with Him. Do His will as servants of God. Colossians 3:23-24  reminds us, “…whatever you do, work heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”

Prayer

Father, I am so thankful. No matter what life throws my way, help me remember that You have something even better in store for me as I continue to lean and depend upon You, Jesus. I give You all the glory and praise in Jesus’s name. Amen.
