Life Eternal In Christ

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” – John 17:3 (KJV)

From a very young age, we are all taught to focus on school, a trade, or some form of activity that will place us in a position to become financially stable so that we can enjoy all that life has to offer. Many hours are spent studying or training so that we can enjoy a few years of benefits before we depart this world. While it is vital that we do these things, it is even more essential for us to spend time seeking and building a relationship with the One who is most important. The One whom, not just our few short years upon this earth depend, but our eternity. That One, brothers and sisters, is Jesus. He can keep you in this earthly life and grant you an eternal one.

In John 10:10, we read, “…I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” It is Christ who loves us and died for us. He became flesh and blood like us so that He could offer us the ultimate sacrifice, His own life. Now you and I can be redeemed freely if we just repent and believe in Him. Therefore, we are encouraged today to spend the little time we have on this earth wisely, it is but a blink of an eye compared to our eternity. Invest wisely!

Prayer

Father, You are faithful in all Your ways. We thank You, Jesus, for going to the cross for our sins and for Your redemptive work. Without You, eternal life would not be possible. So help us to take advantage of the free gift of life You’ve given us. Help us not waste the precious time You’ve given us on things that are not Yours. Help us always keep You at the forefront of our minds; in Jesus’s name, Amen.
