“I will lift up my eyes to the hills – From whence comes my help?” – Psalm 121:1 (NKJV)
Sometimes you find yourself in seasons of discouragement, feeling marginalised, victimised, and overlooked, whether at work, home, or church. A spirit of offense may bloom in your heart, and you begin to retreat into yourself. I’m here to encourage you; do not lose heart, don’t pull back; continue to serve!
It is in these very seasons that you must keep your eyes on the Lord. For He is forming you, breaking mindsets, smoothing rough edges, and creating a vessel for His honour. Therefore, it is imperative that you remain in the process. Psalm 121:1 encourages us to lift our eyes to the hills from whence comes our help, not from man, but the Lord.
Psalm 94:11 states the Lord knows the thoughts of man, that they are futile; it is not what man may think or speak about you, but God. Jehovah has the final say; He will do to His pleasure (Isaiah 46:10).
In the Book of Genesis, Hagar, too, felt victimised and fled from her home. But God’s will had to be done; hence, He told her, “…Return to your mistress and submit yourself…” (Genesis 16:9, NKJV). Note submission is not a weakness, but obedience to God. Hebrews 13:17 admonishes us to submit to authority. If you can’t submit to human authority, whom you can see, how will you submit to God, whom you can’t?
Friends, do not say, ‘Why me?’ Stick with it, remain in the process until God has formed you. I encourage you to look to Jesus and live. Do not complain, worship, praise, pray – stay in the secret place and grow.
