Make Faith a Family Affair

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all yourstrength.”  – Deuteronomy 6:5 (NKJV)

Bible reading and prayer is a normal part of my family life. As a result of this, my children would quote Scriptures to me that apply to our current circumstances and pray about it.

In Deuteronomy Chapter 6:1-9 Moses emphasised the importance of the Israelites’ responsibility to be obedient to the One True Living God, Who would help them encourage and nurture the faith of future generations.

The foundational strength of God honouring families would strengthen the nation of Israel. In Deuteronomy 6:5 we read that you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

Committing to honouring God all your life can be an act of worship in families. We can read Scriptures with our families, understand God’s character and rejoice in all He has done, all He is doing and all He has promised to do. Oh, what a joy it is when we experience God’s life changing love personally and honour Him with our words and actions.

We can plant seeds of loving obedience and devotion towards God for generations.

PRAYER:

Lord, I commit my family to You.  Help us as we plant seeds of loving obedience and devotion towards You that faith will grow from generation to generation. This I pray in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
