“Indeed God speaks once, Or twice, yet no one notices it. In a dream, a vision of the night, When sound sleep falls on men,…, Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction” – Job 33:14-16 (NASB 1995)
In the lives of believers, personal vision and mission must be mandated by God. We must remember that we are not our own. We belong to Him and were created for His purpose and to show forth His Glory. Everything we have, including ourselves, belongs to Him. We are simply stewards.
Beloved when we have a relationship with God, we can better interpret what He’s saying to us. The way to have a relationship is through the Lord Jesus Christ, Who bridges the gap between us and God. When Jesus is part of our lives, He helps us to understand God better, He also gives us the wisdom to understand the Bible, which is God’s message to us. 2 Peter 1:21 reminds us that “for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God”.
Whenever we receive a personal vision, it would be spiritually prudent to examine whether it aligns with God’s Word. Anything that contradicts His Word is not from the Lord. Our minds and even Satan, are capable of producing great deception. It is also essential to seek Godly counsel from mature believers and the prayers of intercessors.
James Goll, author of “The Seer” stated, “every born again believer has two sets of eyes. We have our physical eyes with which we view the physical, created world around us.” The Apostle Paul also talks about the second set of eyes – the eyes of our hearts. This is our inner self-which can be enlightened to receive spiritual truths – Ephesians 1:18 (NIV). In reference to Apostle Paul’s prayer, Goll pronounced that once we pray for God to open the eyes of our hearts, God will give us the spirit of wisdom and revelation.
As we navigate new beginnings, let us remember satan’s job is to hinder us from pursuing our destiny, he sets up distractions. But God has given us authority over Satan, His demonic principalities, and workers of iniquities. Pursue your God-given vision.
Pray
Jehovah God, Your Son Jesus declared in John 10:10 that, “the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy,” but You, Jesus, came to give life. We pray that you give us the spiritual wisdom and discernment to recognise the thief who may come in the disguise of false brethren, false prophecies, deceitful entrapments, and all other evil devices, designed to abort our destiny, and destroy our souls. This we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen!
