Opportunity in Crisis
Romans 8:28 (KJV)
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28 (KJV)
Whenever we experience difficult and troublesome situations it appears as if all is lost, we pull our hair out and wonder why did this happen to us. We feel so angry and upset. Sometimes there are so many questions and no one seems to have the answers.
On the other hand, in some parts of the world people are taught from a very tender age that whenever they face a crisis situation, it really means opportunity is knocking at the door. Thus they have a totally different perspective on life. This brings to mind the saying “believing is seeing” which is the direct opposite to the familiar saying we hold on to, “seeing is believing”.
As we continue to ponder on the above, the Scripture that comes to mind is Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. Therefore, with full assurance and confidence in God we trust Him to work on our behalf.
We are still living in a pandemic and every day we hear so many stories about many people who were able to bloom, grow, prosper and succeed in business, academics, and infrastructural development, just to name a few even in these unprecedented times. Some persons also testified of tremendous growth in their spiritual life, this lets us know that they saw opportunities in the midst of a crisis.
What would help us to triumph in the difficult seasons of life is our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Without Christ in our lives we have no hope, and if we have no hope our future will seem very dismal. Christ helps us to reorder our thinking and see everything through different lenses. If you have already committed your life to Christ, you can make a recommitment today; and if you have never accepted Jesus in your life, now is the time to do so, for it is certain that tough times will come your way and you will have to depend totally on Jesus who will help you to stay focused. Persevere, recognise and grasp the many opportunities that may come your way.
