Our Living Hope – Jesus is Risen

“…our Lord Jesus Christ…according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…” – 1 Peter 1:3 (NKJV)

I just want to thank God for giving us His Son, Who had no sin but died for our sins.  But the greatest of it all, He died, but on the third day, by the power of God, He rose from the grave, as was foretold (Luke 24:6-7). Hallelujah! We have a living Hope and Assurance that when we get to know Him, we will trust and believe that He will take care of us as long as we live according to His Word.

Galatians 4:7 (NIV) says: “…you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are His child, God has made you also an heir” – [“heir” – Kleronomeo in Greek, i.e., the receiver of an inheritance, a beneficiary].

How do we get this inheritance? By accepting Jesus Christ in our life, confirming we are saved by grace and not merit, lest we boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). Grace is the source of our Salvation. It is a gift from God. Philippians 1:21 tells us, ‘To live is Christ, and to die is gain.’

I urge you, my brothers and sisters, to let us live in Christ today, our living hope. Let us trust in Him as He keeps our inheritance. Grant us your infinite power, Lord, that will keep us in perfect peace. We want to gain in You.

Prayer

God, thank You for being so compassionate towards us that You gave up Your Son for us. He didn’t deserve that cruel death, but because of Your Love, you allowed Him to redeem us. Keep us as the apple of Your eyes, Lord. Help me to keep my eyes on You so that Your grace and mercy will be my hope, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
