Our Source of Victory

“for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.” – Deuteronomy 20:4 (NKJV)

Victory is defined in the Oxford Dictionary as “an act of defeating an enemy or opponent…” What victory are you seeking today?

We are plagued with so many battles in life, and some people become overwhelmed and believe they can never overcome or win these battles. They eventually give up the will to live. But today, I want to encourage you with Psalm 121:1-2, which directs us to look up to the hills from whence comet our help. Our help comes from the Lord.

The Lord, our Creator, is always there, ready and willing to help us with any burden we have. There is nothing too hard or too much for him to do for us. He has already claimed the victory for us on the cross at Calvary. 1 Corinthians 15:57 (NLT) says, “But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Jesus has fought and won the battle for us a long time ago.

Deuteronomy 20:4 also speaks of the Lord going into battle with you to ensure you come out victorious. “For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!” (NLT). While in ‭‭2 Chronicles 20:15 (NLT), we read about the advice to a king that applies to us even now. The words were: “…Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”‭‭

The VICTORY is already ours, friends. All we have to do is believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and walk, with confidence, in Him, resting assured that we have already won. So, be encouraged that there is no stronghold that the Lord cannot free you from, be it stress, worry, depression, anxiety, ill health, addiction, bitterness, sexual immorality, pride, or greed. Jesus has already won the battle over these strongholds. Through Him, we have the victory.

So look to Jesus and give Him all your struggles, believing and knowing you are a success story. He alone is our only source of hope as we seek to live in this world today.
