Platforms of Redemption

Platforms of Redemption

Isaiah 44: 21-22 (NIV)

“…I will not forget you. I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.” –  Isaiah 44: 21-22 (NIV)

There are three platforms of redemption:

(1) The forgiveness of sins,

(2) The indwelling of the Holy Spirit to help us overcome sin and follow Jesus, and

(3) Entering God’s rest.

We were redeemed by the forgiveness of our sins. When we say a person has been saved, we mean that he/she was removed from his/her current state and returned to his/her original owner or state.

The Christian’s use of redemption means Jesus Christ, through His sacrificial death, purchased believers from the slavery of sin to set us free from that bondage. Our redemption was planned way before we sinned. It was planned way before Jesus came, and He came to redeem us and set us free!

We are being redeemed by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to help us overcome sin and follow Jesus. There are so many benefits to the infilling of the Holy Spirit. One of them is stated in John 16:8, which reads the Holy Spirit “…will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment” (NKJV). Most believers struggle with sin because they lack the Spirit of God residing inside them.

The Spirit will convict us of everything that offends God! Therefore, pray for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, Who will lead us on the correct path.

We will be redeemed by entering God’s rest. Hebrews 4:9-11 reminds us that there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. As we enter God’s rest, we also rest from our works, following God’s example. Verse 11 says, “Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.”

In Psalm 95, we see that the Israelites disobeyed God, resulting in them being in the wilderness for forty years. Therefore we are admonished to obey God or risk the opportunity to enter His rest. While in Matthew 11:28-30 we see God will give us rest once we come to Him. His yoke is easy.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I give You praise and thanks. I thank You because You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. You said when I pray, whatever I ask, I receive. Therefore it’s upon Your Word that I stand.

I thank You for the forgiveness of sins by which I was redeemed. I thank You for redeeming me by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which helps me overcome evil and follow Jesus, and finally, I thank You, Lord, that as I enter Your rest, I will be redeemed.

I give all praise and glory to the matchless name of Jesus, Amen.
