Poverty is not Your Portion – Part 2

Poverty is not Your Portion – Part 2

Luke 6:38 (NIV)

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” – Luke 6:38 (NIV)

Now that you have acknowledged your financial struggles are as a result of a generational curse since it seems you have no control over what is happening, you need help. I encourage you to do all that it takes to rebuke the devourer from your life and all that concerns you. Seek to live a victorious life by becoming financially prudent. The following recommended lifestyle changes should be made which are in keeping with biblical principles:

  1. If you are not a believer, you need to accept Jesus into your life as Lord and Saviour (John 3:16), light and darkness cannot dwell in the same temple.
  2. Develop a prayer life, and daily use the Scriptures as confessions (Proverbs 18:21).
  3. Accompany your prayers with fasting (Matthew 6:16-18).
  4. Bring your tithes into the house of the Lord; that is one-tenth of all the income earned on a monthly or weekly basis (Malachi 3:10-11).
  5. Give your free will offerings and always look for ways to be a blessing to others.
  6. Only buy what is affordable and what is needed (I Timothy 6:6).
  7. Always try to save some amount of your earnings.
  8. Look for ways to invest a part of your income.

In addition to the above self-disciplinary measures that you have now committed to, connect with a spiritual counsellor who will instruct you so allowing you to become more knowledgeable on the subject matter you are dealing with. Allow that counsellor to take you through a process of deliverance where prayers will be made on your behalf to break the curse affecting your life and lead you on the path of freedom and victory.
