Prayerfully Wait on Him

Prayerfully Wait on Him

Isaiah 40:31 – KJV

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Isaiah 40:31 – KJV

Oftentimes as believers, we remember too well working for the Lord and forgetting to allow the Lord to work for us. In order to be effective in both our work life and ministry, we need to spend prayer time in the presence of the Lord, allowing His Holy Spirit to work in and through us.

Watchman Nee, author of the book, ‘The Breaking of the Outer Man and The Release of the Spirit’ stated, “many people can testify that the work of the Holy Spirit never stopped in them. They faced one trial after another and encountered one incident after another. The Holy Spirit has only one goal in all of His disciplining work: To break and dismantle the outer man so that the inner man can break forth. But the trouble with us is that we murmur as soon as we suffer a little hardship, and we complain when we suffer a little defeat. The Lord has prepared a way for us. He is ready to use us. As soon as His Hands are upon us, however, we become unhappy. Either we argue with Him, or we complain about everything to Him”.

Lee, in summary, contends that both the church and the world need the treasures contained in our earthen vessels and not the earthen vessels. He also informs us that The Lord works in so many ways for the purpose of breaking the earthen vessel, the alabaster flask, and the outer shell so that the Holy Spirit can operate freely through us.

Beloved, prayerlessness proves arrogance. When we fail to wait prayerfully in God’s presence our pride and self-sufficiency are documented. The Holy Spirit wants us to be aware of our inability to deal with a crisis, He wants us to trust His counsel and be addicted to His presence. It is evident that we must not address any crisis without seeking the counsel of the Holy Spirit.

Watchman Nee also cautioned us in ‘Spiritual Discernment’ not to adopt manmade strategies to combat crisis situations because “God will destroy whatever is built by man’s own effort and He will destroy the difficulties in human nature.” He declares that wherever anything is man-made, there is hypocrisy in the spirit.

Remind to wait on the Lord.

PRAYER

Lord, Jesus You are The Christ over the crises. As we humbly wait in Your presence we ask for You to create in us a pure heart and renew a right Spirit within us (Psalm 51:10).

Forgive us Lord and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We bind the spirit of fear that is operating in our lives and cast it into outer darkness and replace it with the boldness that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. In the name of Jesus, we declare that every mountainous crisis will become a molehill (Zechariah 4:7) and that we shall enter into our Goshen victorious. Amen!
