Promised Redemption

“And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood…and we shall reign on the earth.”                                                                                                                                  Revelation 5:9-10 (KJV)

What an awesome reminder of God’s love and promise! Jesus has redeemed us with His Blood! We, once considered unworthy because of our sinful nature, have been bought back, washed, renewed, and sealed. Romans 3:23-24 reminds us, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”- KJV.

God’s instructions were clear. If His people obeyed His commandments, He would set them high above all the nations of the earth and bless them beyond imagination (Deuteronomy 28:1-2). On the other hand, if they rebelled and turned to other gods, they would be cursed (Deuteronomy 28:15)

God’s people did rebel and sin against Him. But our gracious, loving God and Father had a plan for His beloved. His only begotten Son, Christ Jesus, would freely sacrifice His life for us all. With the blood of Jesus Christ, all the curses inherited from disobedience were nullified. No longer are our storehouses, baskets, and cooking utensils cursed. We are blessed with plenty! Proverbs 10:22 says, “The blessing of The Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” – NKJV. We can rejoice knowing that the curses have been transformed into blessings.

Brethren, we shall be fruitful and multiply in our bodies, livestock, and the produce of our land – Deuteronomy 30:9. No longer shall we be cursed with ill health, neither physical, emotional, nor intellectual. Christ Jesus was wounded for our transgressions – Isaiah 53:5. Hallelujah!

Prayer

Blessed Father, we love You. We are truly humbled by the abundance of Your love toward us. Thank You for sending Your only begotten Son to redeem us from the curse of the law. We repent of the times we took Your love for granted, and we promise here and now to spread Your Word so that others may know of Your goodness and grace, also. We give You thanks in the name of Jesus, Amen.
