Prophet Micah’s Message For Us Today – Part 2

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” – Romans 8:14 (NIV)

As we read yesterday, “prophecy” is the foretelling or prediction of something to happen in the future. In the Book of Micah, it was doom, destruction, depression, and even death. Yet it didn’t end there.

The beauty of Micah’s prophecy is that it assures God will not end the lives of everyone; there will be a remnant who will be honourable and still keep His ways and statutes. They will rebuild the things of God. This is, in fact, the most powerful promise of restoration and hope, resulting in the lineage of the coming Messiah being retained (Micah 5:2). Are you part of that remnant? Do you want to be a part of that remnant that obeys God’s Word?

In Micah, we find the beautiful path of repentance and restoration of the birth of Christ in Bethlehem. It is the most significant prophecy: the birth of Jesus Christ. It was foretold some seven hundred years before Christ’s actual birth, even to His birthplace of Bethlehem and His eternal nature (Micah 5:2-4)

Micah was not alive to witness this great prophecy, but it did come to pass, proving the truth of his foretelling. Today, we have hope in the risen Saviour, who was foretold, came, was crucified, and is resurrected. He is now interceding for us while allowing His Holy Spirit to guide us in truth (Romans 8:34; John 16:13)

Micah’s warning and call for us to turn away from sin and look towards the Saviour, Who gives peace, hope, and protection, still reigns supreme today. Allow Jesus to shape you. Come off the path of destruction! Join the path of life! Give your heart to Christ!
