‘Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” – John 14:6 (NKJV)
I thought I was saved because I attended mass regularly. I thought I was saved because I adorned myself in a religious garment and prayed the ‘Our Father prayer’. I didn’t know that I had a form of godliness, but I was empty and powerless. Like the song, ‘I did it my way’, I have discovered that my way will cause pain and regrets. God is looking for people that will submit their ways to Him and pursue His kingdom and right living. When we encounter “the way,” our lives will be transformed and sustained.
Before Jesus’ followers were called Christians, they were called “the Way” (Acts 9:2; Acts 19:9). “The Way” is a reference to Jesus Christ (John 14:6). Imagine being so close to God that people can only say, “He is a child of God”. My friends, remember we are living epistles read and known by men. Some persons may not read the Bible, but they can look upon you and see the love and compassion of Jesus. Lord, help us to be like you.
Let us endeavour to walk in “the way” that leads to eternal life. This way of life produces power, victory, joy, and peace. Have you been neglecting the ‘way of life’ because you are walking your way? When I walked in my way, I failed tremendously, demons tried to kill me, but in the midst of distress, I discovered that Jesus can deliver me.
Are you depressed, abused, and burdened? Today, why not submit to the Way, Jesus Christ? He has already walked the redemption way for you. Come as you are, and He will give you rest. You are saying, but I need to change my ways before I come. Friends, you cannot change your ways. The power to change comes from God. Our part is to cooperate with Him by faith (Ephesians 2:8).
Come as you are, and you wouldn’t stay as you are. Answer the call today!
Prayer
Lord, I acknowledge You are the way. I submit my ways to You. Forgive me of my sins and wash me with Your blood. Transform my life and help me to be like You. Let humanity see Your love and light in my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
