Responsibility in the Kingdom of God

Responsibility in the Kingdom of God

Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” – Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)

In the Gospels in the Bible, the Lord Jesus taught about the Kingdom of God. He did this because He wanted His disciples to have a responsible lifestyle in the Kingdom.

When you come to Christ, not only will you receive His blessings, but you also have a responsibility to live for Him as He has said in His Word. On this earth, you are living to fulfill the purpose of God, to receive His inheritance (Colossians 3:23-24).

One of the purposes of God for you is to pray for others as stated in the above Scripture. To be effective in your prayer, you must be able to speak the Word of God or, according to Ephesians 6:17, use the Sword of the Spirit. The Sword is used to defeat the enemy.

The Bible speaks of a two-edged Sword. What is a two-edged Sword? Simply put, it is:

  1. When God speaks, one edge is formed.
  2. When you speak what God has said, the second edge is formed.

Since we know that the Bible is the Word of God, then we must quote God’s Word in order for our weapon of prayer to be effective. This is the will of God for us as children of God; our responsibility.

God looks at the heart, out of which flows the issues of life (1 Samuel 16:7). He looks beyond the surface. Be reminded that heaven backs us when we pray according to the will of God (2 Chronicles 30:27).

Beloved, let us remind ourselves of who we are in Christ Jesus.
