Resurrection Day – D Day of the Devil’s Defeat

It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory.

1 Corinthians 15:42-43a (NLT)

Beloved, it was the devil’s intention to wipe out our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ and His message of salvation from the face of the earth. The hordes of hell were released and emissaries who wore the cloak of religious priests stirred up the multitudes who demanded that He be crucified. Jesus was betrayed by His disciple Judas; another disciple, Peter, denied having known Him. When He was arrested all the other disciples fled.

In short, Jesus was scourged, spat upon, crowned, whipped and crucified on the cross of Calvary, and buried. The devil thought the evil deed was done, but on Resurrection Sunday Jesus arose having seized the keys of hell and death, freed the captives, and gave gifts unto men (Revelation 1:17-18, Ephesians 4:8). The resurrection of Jesus resulted in the defeat of the devil and his diabolical death schemes for mankind.

Christ’s resurrection is the ultimate hope for mankind. Since Jesus rose from the dead, every believer and mankind, in general, can have a blessed assurance of resurrection and eternal life, which is assured by the power of God to restore all things. Saints of God, let’s pray for the salvation of mankind.

PRAYER

Jesus Your Word in John 11:25-26 declared that You are the resurrection and the life. He who believes in You, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in You shall never die. We pray in Your name Jesus for the salvation of lost souls. Help us to be relentless in our pursuit to obey the Commission that You have given us. Amen.
