Rise, Shine – This is Your Time!
Genesis 50:20 (NKJV)
But as for you, you meant it for evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. Genesis 50:20 (NKJV)
The account of the entire Book of Esther is intriguing. God shows us that He is Omniscient. God shows us that He places His children in strategic positions in preparation for impending crises.
Genesis 50:20 relates to an account resembling the Book of Esther. A crisis can affect an individual, a family, or a nation. God places His children in positions of influence to bring positive solutions to crisis situations and to be agents of change.
One important nugget to cherish from the life of Esther is the fact that we should not seek to promote ourselves and publicise that we are “Christians”. Let your life speak louder than your voice. Mordecai, like the Three Hebrew Boys, refused to bow to the laws of an ungodly king. Queen Esther was introduced to a major part of her assignment in a unique manner. The Jews, her people, were being threatened by their enemies. Esther 4:14 speaks directly to every Believer. God has put power in our tongues – Proverbs 18:21. Therefore, in such crisis situations, we cannot remain completely silent. Besides speaking to the situation, we can go before God in prayer. In the same verse important words speak directly to us, they are, ‘Yet who knows whether you have come to the Kingdom for such a time as this’?
The account continues to relate that Mordecai, Queen Esther, her maids, and all the Jews of the land fasted and prayed. God performed a miracle and caused the ungodly king to play a major role in the deliverance of God’s people. God showed mercy to His people. He can turn any situation around to show forth His glory and power. Esther 8:17 puts the icing on the cake. It says, “…Then many of the people of the land became Jews because fear of the Jews fell upon them.”
God has not changed. He will never change. His power is just the same as in the olden days. Invite Christ into every crisis and watch His deliverance.
