Sow Kindness; Reap Kindness

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” – Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)

When we hear of sowing in the language of the Kingdom of God, our first thought is to put it in the context of finances. However, let’s expand our guide to righteous living and envisage that anything in which we invest our money, energy, time, or focus is an act of sowing.

When you discern the power behind every seed you sow, you will be energised to do your best. A lamp will be lit in your heart that will allow you to walk in wisdom, concerning what to do, how to do it better, and when to do it. You will learn that it’s not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of the Holy Ghost. Your ability to be effective in every endeavour and experience success would be visible.

I have been teaching for many years. As I approached every new group of pupils I asked God to show me the needs that existed within each group. God has never failed to answer and I have never failed to be obedient to serve. I have concluded over the years that I had special assignments to minister to specific children, parents, and teachers. I have always tried to go the extra mile to help a child who needed that extra bit of attention and encouragement. Proverbs 11:25 says, “The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.” (NKJV). I have seen this harvest being manifested in my children and grandchildren. In every school that they have attended someone willingly ensured that their safety and well-being were catered to.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 (NKJV) reminds us, “…time and chance happen to them all.” These words inform us that everyone has been given TIME and OPPORTUNITY while we live on this earth. Erase the phrase, ‘I don’t have enough time.’ YES, YOU DO! Manage it, invest it wisely, and steward it. Choose to sow kindness, it is the fruit of the Spirit. The seeds are available to produce a forest. The generations that follow you will be able to reap bountifully. Pray for discernment to recognise your opportunities and invest.

Prayer

Lord, we believe that Your laws stand forever. Help us to obey Your Word that teaches us that there will always be seedtime and harvest. Open the eyes of our hearts to see every opportunity that is presented and ears to hear Your voice of guidance. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
