Our Sunday School Ministry has been serving the fellowship and Wortmanville community since the late 1960’s as our fellowship was being established with services held at G Bent Street, Wortmanville. Our first Superintendent was Brother Sydney Corry and our main objectives remain: to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all age groups, to foster a love for the Word of God, to give every attendee an opportunity to accept Jesus as Saviour and Lord and to recognize the potential of our youth – whom we release to become planners and teachers.
Our Leadership
Our Ministry is led by Minister Norma Singh (Superintendent) and several persons in the fellowship including Deacon Wesley Adams (Assistant Superintendent), Sister Samantha Edwards (Secretary), Brother Aubrey Sultan (Assistant Secretary), Brother Lawrence Drakes (Treasurer), and Sister Tracy Benjamin (Assistant Treasurer).
Rev. Dr Marcel Hutson provides oversight of this ministry as Chairman of the Christian Education Department.

Our ministry has adapted during the COVID-19 pandemic and hosts six (6) classes:
- Beginners (3–6 years),
- Primary (7–10 years),
- Juniors (11–14 years),
- Teens (15–19 years),
- Young Adults (20–25 years); and

How we Minister
Our Ministry develops an annual programme to prepare both teachers and students for the year ahead.
Some of the programmes geared towards the spiritual development of our students include:
- Weekly Sunday School classes. These are presented under a common theme with scriptural references planned at the beginning of each year. Classes feature sermonettes, memory verse recitals, Bible boxing for teens, art, craft and more.
- Vacation Bible School is hosted annually and has been held virtually in 2020 and 2021
- Pentecost Sunday Observance
- Elocution Sessions
- Community outreaches and sharing of school supplies and snacks during Vacation Bible School; and
- March of Witness (this involves teachers, Sunday School children and others marching from the church to and through a selected neighbouring community).
Some of the programmes geared towards strengthening our teachers’ competence include:
- Monthly Teachers’ Conferences (every second Saturday) to keep our teachers learning and improving their teaching abilities
- Annual Teachers’ Retreat provides formal training for new recruits and refresher for existing teachers (operational since 2005).
- Ad-hoc activities are hosted to sensitise members about the importance of ministry to children and adults who do not attend Sunday School
- Annual Vacation Bible School – Outreach Sessions are a precursor to VBS, is held each May and enables us to educate members on the importance of ministry to children and adults who do not attend. This program has been ongoing since 2011.
- Sunday School Mother’s Day and Father’s Day programmes are hosted for parents of children attending Sunday school and have been ongoing for more than 30 years.
