Surrender and Enjoy the Journey – Part 1

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you….” Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Life is a journey, and our journeys differ. How many times have we tried to fix what we later realise could not have been fixed by us? Or how many times have we perspired profusely over matters we later realised weren’t really worth the sweat? We stress and fuss over the least in the journey of life while the most have been passing us by.

Dear brothers and sisters, as we examine Jeremiah 29:11, we see it is God Who has said He knows His plans for us. This single declaration brings comfort to believers. It is like a bed in which one can take a rest. And for others, this is just what is needed for them to begin to enjoy life’s journey. Because God can be trusted, let’s surrender, rest on His bed of promises, and enjoy the journey!

Further, God has said His plans are to prosper us and not harm us. We may not have all we desire in our hands or in close sight, but God’s plans remain the same. Yes! He will prosper us. He has all we need, waiting to release it/them at just the right time! Just relax. Surrender to God, and enjoy the journey!
