The Believers Plan of Prayer

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood…” – Ephesians 6:11-12 (NKJV)

The enemy uses strategies against us daily. He has to come to kill, steal, and destroy our lives by any means possible (John 10:10), but God has given us a weapon – the weapon of prayer (Ephesians 6:18). This weapon is for us to bind and loose on earth according to God’s divine will and purpose (Matthew 16:19)

Therefore, our prayers must follow a plan and be systematic and specific. When we examine Jesus’s prayer life, He arose early in the morning and went to a quiet place (Mark 1:35). He spent much time in prayer with the Father. Likewise, the success of our lives as believers depends on the amount of time spent in prayer.

So, do you have a plan for prayer? Are your prayers systematically following the ACTS acronym? Brethren, our God is holy. He expects us to adore Him, confess our trespasses, return thanksgiving for His grace, and make supplication unto Him. He says in Matthew 7:7-8 (NKJV), “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” It is also important to note that we receive our desires when they are locked into His divine will and purpose for our lives (James 4:3)

Believers, our prayer time must be organised as Jesus’ was – rising early in the morning to command the day in the name of the Father, making counter-attacks against the plots and schemes of the devil (Job 38:12). In the authority of Jesus’ name, removing satanic obstacles set up to frustrate and derail the purposes of God in our lives. Then, finally, ensure you make your petitions specific, identify and detail the issues you are taking to God so your prayers would be focused and to the point (Job 13:18), not making vain repetitions (Matthew 6:6 –7)

Remember, it is through prayer that the promises of God are fulfilled. God does nothing apart from prayer and everything through it. So let’s pray for it’s the channel of all blessings, the secret of power and spiritual life and fellowship with the unseen and most Holy one, Abba Father.
