“The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of the heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, Who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God.”
Hebrews 9:13-14 (NIV)
The divine road Christ took to commission the selfless act of giving His life for mankind was not an easy one. David Marshall, author of the book “Is God Still in the HEALING Business,” summarised Christ’s suffering this way, “His hands were pierced for the wrong things our hands have done. His feet were spiked for the wandering paths our feet had trod. His brow was thorn-crushed for the wrong thoughts our minds have harboured. His heart was broken for the wrong things our hearts have loved. His side was spear-riven to prove once and for all that the way to God’s heart is wide open”. Indeed, Jesus was paying the price for our sins.
At Calvary, satan thought he had won, but Jesus defeated him when He bore our iniquities on the Cross. Beloved, the heart of the human problem is the problem of the human heart, and God has worked on a solution to that problem. In addition to receiving salvation and eternal life (once we believe in Him), Christ’s blood covenant benefits guarantee mercy, protection, healing, sanctification, redemption, and forgiveness of sins. Generational sin and curses are cancelled by Jesus’ blood because He died so that we might be redeemed from the sins of our ancestors. We also received justification by His shed blood – Romans 5:9.
Moreover, according to God’s Justice System, sin cannot be punished twice. And because Jesus took all the punishment, our sins can no longer be accounted to us. We stand before God justified and righteous, our past is over, and our trespasses are buried in the sea of forgetfulness – Micah 7:9. We must, however, walk in His commandments to benefit.
Friends, if you stand outside the Blood Covenant and refuse to accept Christ as your Saviour, the devil is mandated to make your life a difficult one, where you will go to a lost eternity – John 10:10 (KJV). Will you choose Him today? The choice is yours.
