“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised…” – Psalm 145:3 (NKJV)
There are one hundred fifty Psalms in the Bible, a collection of songs of worship, adoration, lament, thanksgiving, personal prayer, and many more. This writer loves them all – they are very profound. They teach us to express our emotions to God in every circumstance in our lives. Moreover, some people firmly believe that if they pray a Psalm, victory is on the horizon.
Whatever you are experiencing at any point in your life, there is a prayer that you can pray and even a song that you can sing that will definitely resonate with the situation at hand. Do not underestimate the power of the Psalms to bring you out of your circumstances when they occur. Once you are genuine, God will certainly hear your prayer and intervene on your behalf.
Sometimes, the answer comes immediately; other times, it is delayed, and there are times when the answer is ‘NO’ because it isn’t right for you or perhaps something better is in store. Let me hasten to say this: even if your prayers are not those in the Book of Psalms and are from other parts of the Bible, God will still hear them, but never stop praying, which is my admonition to you. There is something divinely transformative when you pray the Word of God. It strengthens your faith, transforms your perspective, encourages perseverance, and enhances a deeper relationship with Him. If you don’t know how to pray, read the Book of Psalms and allow God to guide you.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I thank You for the Bible, which is Your guide to right living. Help me to read it daily and meditate upon its true words. May I be able to pray Your Word, speak Your Word, and even sing Your Word. May it be a lamp unto our feet and a light to my path in Your precious name, I pray. Amen.
