The Family of God That Prays Together Stays Together

Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV

“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” – Henry Ford.

Being a parent is not easy. The Bible instructs a parent to “train up a child..”. Many parents want to make all choices for their children, but this hurts in the long run. When parents teach a child how to make decisions, they don’t have to watch every step he/she takes. They know they will remain on or return to the right path.

Parents should discern the individual and special strengths God has given each child. The Bible also mentions the mouth numerous times, what to say, and the importance of what we say. For example, Ephesians 4:29 (NKJV). While in Deuteronomy 6:7, God instructs the children of Israel on how to raise their families.

If you want your children to follow God, you must make God an everyday life event. You must teach them to see God in all aspects of life, not just those that are church-related.

Prayers keep them united even across the miles. Praying together bonds you as a  family. Jesus said in Matthew 18:20, “…where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” Jesus actually comes; He hears. And if you’ve got Jesus with you, He is the rock of your family.

Make prayer a number one priority in your family. You will receive the strength to withstand the trials and challenges together that will attempt to you apart. You will be filled with God’s love for each other and those around you. You will be brought closer to God and closer to one another. Your generations to come will be blessed. And as you pray as a family, peace, and blessing will fall upon your home.

Have the zeal for teaching and praying with your children. We’re privileged stewards of their lives for a very short time; make it count unto eternity.

Prayer

Father, in the name of Jesus, help families to understand that God loves us unconditionally. Reveal any unforgiveness that is in our hearts and give us wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Help us not to be easily offended. Give us peace in our hearts, in Jesus’s name. Amen.
