The Incomparable Gift – It Comes Fully Loaded

The Incomparable Gift – It Comes Fully Loaded

Luke 1:68 (NIV)

“Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,

because He has come to His people and redeemed them.” – Luke 1:68 (NIV)

Offers here, offers there, offers everywhere, all in keeping with the theme of the ‘Christmas spirit’. Companies giving back to their customers, employers rewarding their employees. Parents spending their last coin ensuring that their child/children receive a present. I’m sure you’ve gotten the picture by now; Christmas is the season of giving. But how did all of this begin?

It began many years ago when God, Who loves sinners, fulfilled His promise by sending His only begotten Son to be born in a manger, to live a life of example, and to die for the sins of all men. Yes, you heard me correctly, everyone, the good, and the bad – Luke 1:26-38, 2:1-20. Unlike Santa, whose list shows partiality and whose supply is limited, God’s gift of His Son Jesus Christ is for everyone regardless of language, race, ethnicity, gender, status, religion, or ambition – 1 John 2:2 (NIV). You are not forgotten. You are a part of God’s big wonderful plan of salvation.

John 3:16 constantly reminds that God’s motive for giving His Son was love. He was moved with compassion as He looked down from His throne and saw that man was in bondage to sin. Hence, God decided that the time was right for Him to send forth His Son into the world to die for our freedom. However, this plan could only be executed by someone without sin. We could not and cannot save ourselves since we are all born in sin – Psalm 51:5 (NIV). Only one Person met the criteria for this redemption plan, God’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

This season, God is presenting us with yet another opportunity to receive the best gift available, Jesus Christ, the Saviour. No other gift is comparable. Here are some benefits:

  1. Salvation – Acts 4:12
  2. Healing – Matthew 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24
  3. Deliverance – Galatians 5:1
  4. Provision – Philippians 4:19
  5. Protection – 2 Thessalonians 3:3

What value! Today, the offer is still open. It does not carry an expiry date like other gifts. Has any other gift been as beneficial? Take some time this season to seek out the benefits that time did not permit us to mention here today. Ask yourself which gift profited or will profit you more. Once we have life we can cash in on these benefits, do not delay; receive Jesus Christ, the gift of eternal life.
