From time to time, Christians face numerous challenges. This is a fact of life. Knowing this, therefore, children of God are expected to face their challenges with boldness. Many have assumed that once they have become Christians, life should be completely free of challenges. So when difficult circumstances arise, they begin to wonder, “Why do I still have problems?” “Why do I feel pain?” “Why do my prayers take so long to be answered?” We need to remember an important truth about the Christian life. It is a journey, and God is in control.
There must be challenges to our faith in order for it to work. Faith is proven, exercised, and perfected in the face of adversity. Life isn’t defined by how smooth the journey is, but you’re promoted through the tests you’ve overcome. Jesus said in Revelation 2:26 (NLT), “To all who are victorious, who obey Me to the very end, to them I will give authority over all the nations.”
We must pass each test of life before advancement comes. It’s not an overnight success. There are stages, experiences, and victories that position us for greater responsibility.
Sometimes, God allows us to face difficult circumstances, not to make us fail, but for our victory. He knows we can win because of what He’s placed within us. And when we win, we’re allowed to experience more. This is the divine pattern. God is still in control.
Therefore, child of God, you are required to stand firm. Don’t crumble under pressure. Don’t give in to fear or frustration. Declare like Paul, “But none of these things move me…” (Acts 20:24, KJV); You’re more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). Practice looking the adversary in the face and declare, “I’m a victor in Jesus Christ. Greater is He Who is in me than he who is in the world!”
Beloved, remember it makes no difference what comes your way; you have the comfort of God in your spirit. Every challenge is an opportunity for you to triumph. James 1:2 (KJV) says, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into diverse temptations.”
