The Proverbs 31 Woman – Part 2

The Proverbs 31 Woman – Part 2

Proverbs 31:15 (NIV)

She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family…” – Proverbs 31:15 (NIV)

We can draw much inspiration from the Proverbs 31 woman to live in this world today. The above Scripture shows a hard-working, disciplined, and dedicated woman. A woman that puts her family first, ensuring that they are catered for and that there’s no lack.

Today, we see many children being abandoned, abused, and even demon-possessed for various reasons. But the example we have of the Proverbs 31 woman shows she fights for her family. She wakes up early (once required) to ensure provision is made for all. There’s no hint of abandonment or cry of fatigue. She’s diligent in all her tasks.

Another woman who demonstrated incredible strength (and dignity) was Mary Magdalene. Mary was a woman who seven demons had possessed before she encountered Jesus. But when she met Him, her life was transformed. She became one of His most devoted followers and was one of the first to witness His resurrection. She was dedicated.

Mary’s story is a reminder that no matter what our past may look like, we can find strength in Christ. When we surrender our lives to Him, He can turn our brokenness into something beautiful. He can give us the strength to face our challenges and the dignity to carry ourselves with grace and confidence. But we must first commit our lives to Him.

As we celebrate women in the Bible, let the examples of Deborah (yesterday’s devotion) and Mary Magdalene inspire us. Clothe yourself with strength and dignity, trust God’s provision and guidance, and find joy and laughter in the coming days.

Prayer

Thank You, Lord, for making me a woman of strength. Let me be like Mary Magdalene, who found new life in You. Help me to provide for my family and never give up on them. Be my Guide and Counsellor, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
