The Salvation Story

“For the grace of God has appeared bringing salvation for all people…” – Titus 2:11 (ESV)

Imagine God used the brightest star in the cosmos to identify the whereabouts of the brightest Morning Star that ever graced the earth; Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords, is His name. In the world today, many famous actors and actresses have been given the titles of movie stars. Entertainers, athletes, and those in the fashion industry are considered stars or/and icons. These “stars,” because of their popularity, are used by manufacturers to advertise and market their products and increase sales.

The fallen star, satan, eventually influences many of these ‘stars’, promise them the world of wealth and fortunes for their souls, and use them for his diabolical purposes. Some become drugged up, perform shame rituals, and eventually destroy their souls, sending them to a lost eternity. Other officials, community, and religious leaders who are prepared to compromise their integrity for filthy lucre can also be caught up in the cauldron of eternal death. Thus, the question that was asked by Jesus, “For what does it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?” – Mark 8:36 (KJV)

The starlight of Jesus must become star-bright in our lives as we avail ourselves for the refiner’s fire of God to cleanse us (Malachi 3:2-3). “…let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us…” – Hebrew 12:1 (KJV). To ‘lay aside’ means to put away, to get rid of, or to remove. The phrase “the sin which doth so easily beset us” is with particular reference to that temptation or sin that we always fall victim to. Those vices of sinful habits that we seem to overlook either because of material benefits, negligence, or a carefree attitude, including drunkenness, sexual immorality, telling lies, stealing, and such.

Brethren, as Christians and soul winners, we are the stars of God. Daniel 12:3 (NIV) reminds us, “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.” Saints of God, we are the light of the world. Let us use the authority of the light of Christ that dwells within us to dispel the forces of darkness by destroying and dismantling all the diabolical network structures and systems established to destroy the souls of men.
