The Weekend of Life-Changing Accomplishments

“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” – 1 Timothy 1:15 (KJV)

Allow me to tell you about a simple weekend that changed my life. Many years ago, at a wedding reception, the most unexpected thing happened. A friendly encounter led to love, marriage, and a family. That was the weekend I met my husband. Our lives were changed as we became a family. Through the years, we encountered Jesus our Saviour and we stayed with each other through good and bad. Then, we were separated by death. What an impact that weekend of our meeting had on me! That one weekend changed my world.

Now, let us look at the greatest Man who changed the entire world in one weekend. He was born of the Virgin Mary, grew up as a normal child, and became the Saviour of the world. He turned water into wine, healed the sick, raised the dead, but most of all, He was the sacrifice for sinners. Though innocent, He was accused of wrong, beaten with many stripes, spat upon, having a crown of thorns placed on His head, pierced to the side, nailed to the cross, and left to die.

Then, in that same weekend, as though much hadn’t happened already, He rose from the dead just as He had said! (Matthew 28:5-6). In just one weekend, He proved to be more than just a simple man but the Saviour Who set us free. His name is Jesus Christ!

I have tried this Saviour. He has become my Master and Friend of my life. Though I was a sinner, Jesus set me free. He lives forever in my heart and adds peace, joy, and love for others every day. Would you like to have Him as your Saviour and Friend? Your life can change this weekend at your local church (or even now), accept Him.

Prayer

Father in heaven, thank You for Your loving kindness, for guiding our steps and Your keeping power over my life and family. Thank you, Jesus, for coming into the world to save us from our sins. May You forever be lifted high. I pray that others come to know You as I do. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
