“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed…but with the precious blood of Christ…” – 1 Peter 1:18-19 (NIV)
Easter is more than just a holiday – it is the greatest reminder of the power of the blood of Jesus. Over 2,000 years ago, Jesus willingly died on the cross, shedding His blood to redeem humanity from sin, as recorded in 1 Peter 1:18-19.
Historical and biblical evidence confirm His crucifixion, with accounts from the Gospels and even historians like Josephus attesting to His death. But the account did not end there. On the third day, He rose again, proving His victory over sin and death, as stated in Romans 6:9: “For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over Him.” The blood of Jesus is still powerful today.
At the First Assembly of God Wortmanville church, one pastor encountered a possessed man who was demanding human blood. Through the authority of Jesus’ blood, the man was delivered from demonic oppression, showing that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is still at work, as stated in Revelation 12:11 (NIV): “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…“.
This is the time to serve God. The world offers temporary pleasures, but only Jesus gives true freedom, peace, and eternal life. As Romans 12:1 (NIV) encourages: “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship.”
This Easter, remember – Jesus is alive, and His blood still has power!
Prayer
“Father, I love You. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, into this world. Through His sacrifice, You have made a way for my sins to be washed away by His precious blood. Help me to live in awareness of the transformation that has taken place in my life because of the finished work of Jesus on the cross, I declare, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
