Transformation of the Total Man

Transformation of the Total Man

Romans 12:2 (KJV)

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 12:2 (KJV)

Brethren, the transformation of the total man commences with the renewal of our mind. As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, it is of paramount importance for us to unlearn all the evil philosophies of men and the evil habits that we acquired during our life journey in this sinful world.

Myer Pearlman in his book “Knowing the DOCTRINES of the BIBLE” noted that by virtue of Jesus’ blood sacrifice on the cross the believer is forever set apart to God. His conscience is purged and he himself is transformed from an unclean sinner into a holy worshipper linked up in an abiding fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sanctification and consequently transformation of the total man can only be accomplished by total submission to God’s Word, the redeeming blood of Jesus, and the cleansing power of the Holy Spirit.

Saints, let us interpret life through the lens of God and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, rather than our own experiences, wounds, preferences, and the opinion of others. We should desire to live spirit-led lives so that we may experience exponential growth in Christ. However, failure to renew our minds will ultimately result in defeat, struggles, and confusion because we have no understanding of how to see the manifestation of that life.

Watchman Nee in his book “The Spiritual Man” declares that the enemy satan aims to confine the Christian’s life within his soul and to quench his spirit by filling his mind with various wandering thoughts. These thoughts are designed to confuse our awareness about what is of the Spirit. God’s children become incompetent to distinguish what is of the Spirit and what emanates from the soul.

When we renew our minds, it brings us into alignment with the truth of God’s Word and reinforces that truth every time the enemy comes at us with various deceptions.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, we pray your Word in 2 Corinthians 10:5 over our lives. In the name of Jesus we demolish arguments, and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Lord God, for those of us who are struggling we ask that You create in us a pure heart and renew a right spirit within us. In that regard, remove every spirit of pride, self-importance, and self-conceit that causes our spirit to become stiff, unyielding and selfish, in Jesus’s name we pray. Amen!
