“Those who trust in themselves are fools…” – Proverbs 28:26 (NIV)
God has given each of us a measure of faith, and that measure is for us to begin to trust Him.
He has given us many promises in His Word. He says, if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us (1 John 1:9). I will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). My grace is sufficient, for My strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in a time of need (Psalm 46:1). Be still and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10). These are just a few of His promises to those who are His (believers). It, however, takes our faith to access the promises and to see them materialise in our lives.
Faith enables us to see beyond our natural vision and for us to accept what is not humanly possible. It took faith (confidence and trust in what God said) for Moses to stretch out his rod across the Red Sea to part it (create a pathway) for the Israelites to walk over on dry ground.
Faith demands infinite trust and confidence to believe in God’s Word. His Word, however, tells us that He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6B). Are you seeking the Lord today, the best friend you will ever have? Trust in His Word and see Him work and establish His truth and promises in your life. Allow your faith to arise so that your life will bring glory and honour to Him.
Prayer
Father, thank You for Your Word. I ask that You help us to put our trust and confidence in You through Your Word. We want to be more like You. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
