“And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent.” – Matthew 27:51 (KJV)
John 3:16 (KJV) tells us: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Some people are of the perception that this verse only speaks to the salvation of our souls and leads to a decision of where we would spend eternity. But it is so much more!
God, having such great love for us, would not want to wait until we depart this world to have unlimited access to us and to allow us unlimited access to Him. His desire is for constant communication and companionship. If we, as humans, know how we feel when we are not in constant contact with our loved ones, how much more is our Heavenly Father who created us and our emotions?
When Jesus yielded His spirit on the Cross of Calvary for our sins, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. This veil was used in the Old Testament to separate the Holy of Holies from the rest of the Tabernacle, signifying where sin separated us from our Holy God. The Holy of Holies was only accessible to the High Priest once a year when he would offer sacrifice for sin.
At Jesus’ death, this separating symbol was not torn halfway. It did not roll up. It was torn completely in two, from top to bottom, giving us free unlimited access to The Father through the atoning blood of His Son. Hallelujah!
Some communication providers offer ‘unlimited access’; however, when you read the fine print, there are conditions, but unlimited access to God means unlimited. Anywhere! Anytime! For all eternity! Available to all! And it costs us nothing! No blood, sweat, or tears. Jesus did all that! The payment plan is complete redemption. Paid in full!

Heavenly Father, how can we say thanks for all the things You have done for us? Because of Your love, we can cry ‘Abba Father’ and be confident that You hear and will answer us. Thank You for loving us and allowing us unlimited access to You. Help us to share the beauty of this access with others so that they, too, can live eternally blessed. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
