Welcome to God’s Family

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the children of God – 1 John 3:1 (NKJV)

God loves the idea of FAMILY. It was the first institution that was established. God enjoyed the fellowship that He had with that first family. Anyone who is ‘ born again ‘ is welcomed into God’s family. That’s the reason for addressing each other as ‘brother’ and ‘sister’. Jesus is our Elder Brother’.

In every family, there are specific needs that must be met. Every family member has basic needs that should be fulfilled within the family environment. Everyone needs love, security, friendship, acceptance, motivation, and belonging. It’s no different in the Family of God. For this reason, Hebrews10:25 was written. We are admonished not to give up on spending time together, encouraging each other, being a blessing to others, rejoicing with those who rejoice, and weeping with those who weep.

Within the Family of God, it is important to have discerning hearts to seek out those who may be hurting. As children also we should choose to be attached to believers who are strong in their faith and their relationship with God. As you seek to grow in Christ there is always a need for support. One should not navigate the Christian walk alone. Like-minded believers should always be the group that one would choose to hang around. Their language and lifestyle must line up with the commandments of the Lord.

With the Shepherd to lead and Goodness and Mercy following every day we would learn to bear one another’s burdens and so fulfil the Law of Christ. As you live, learn and love in the Family of God you will grow and mature to be children who will find favour with God and man.
