What is God’s Call?

“…let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” – Romans 12:2 (NLT)

“The call of God on your life” refers to the divine purpose and plan He has for your life. It’s an invitation extended by God to everyone. It’s a call to have a personal relationship with Him, to live a holy life, and bring Him glory. This relationship is fostered by prayer, reading the Holy Scriptures, having fellowship with other believers, and obedience.

One of the ways to fulfil God’s call on your life is to be renewed in your mind, as stated in Romans 12:2. Biblical teaching produces a direction in one’s life that is God-driven, God-approved and God-blessed. Thus, it is essential to note that renewal of the mind primarily comes through the Word of God and prayer.

Joshua 1:8 (NLT) states, “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you may be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do”. The Word of God shapes the Christian mind. While in prayer, the utterances should be, ‘O God, shape me, O God, make me, bring me into conformity to this Word at the depths of my being.’

It is out of that renewed mind and that prayerful experience that the believer begins to discern a call from the Lord Jesus, and importantly, can act on that call.

Believers, let us redeem the time and follow God’s call on our lives. Listen!
