“Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” – Psalm 37:4 (NIV)
In the month of May, most countries celebrate Mother’s Day, which can take various forms, such as vibrant celebrations and, in some cases, deep reflections. Some may have their mothers to celebrate with and even mother figures in their lives, while others have no mothers to celebrate and, in some instances, just do not have any interest in it at all because of the memories that are associated with it.
As a woman, life may feel overwhelming at times. Perhaps you’re waiting on a breakthrough, battling insecurities, or feeling unseen and unheard. But let this truth take root in your heart: God knows you intimately. He formed you in His image, and He delights in you. His love for you is unshakable, and His promises are sure.
Psalm 37:4 is a beautiful reminder of the deep, transformative joy found in a relationship with the Lord. This verse isn’t just a promise; it’s an invitation — a call to surrender your burdens, fears, and even your dreams to Him, trusting that His plan for you is greater than anything you could imagine.
Jesus Himself called women to serve, making themselves available to do God’s will, stepping into the fullness of their God-given purpose, from the woman at the well (John 4) to Mary Magdalene. Just as He empowered them, He empowers you today. Hold onto the truth that His grace is sufficient, His strength is made perfect in weakness, and His plans for you are good.
Be encouraged, my dear sisters, and stand firm in the knowledge found in Romans 8:28 (KJV): “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” Therefore, know you are deeply loved, endlessly cherished, and wonderfully made in Christ Jesus. Let Him fill your heart, and watch His promises unfold in your life, more beautiful than you could have imagined.
Prayer
Thank You Jesus for Your promises. I believe in them all and trust You to fulfil them as I reside in You. This I pray in Your matchless name, Amen.
