Our Women’s Ministry (WM) has been serving the fellowship and Wortmanville community since the formation of the church in the 1950s. The aim of this ministry is to challenge and equip women to passionately pursue God and to influence their world. We are here to encourage, partner with, and provide resources to help minister to the needs of women in our communities and nation.
Service to our women and communities is inspired by scripture found in Ecclesiastes 9:10: “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.”
Emblem and Colours:
Our emblem is represented by the Open Heart and symbolizes women’s inherent openness to the challenges of human need.
Our colour red is for the great sacrifice Christ made for our salvation. Matthew 10:39
Our colour white is for the standard of Christ’s righteousness – “ Be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord.” Isaiah 52:11
Our Leadership
Our Ministry is currently led by Min. Hazel Jackman (President) and several influential ladies in our fellowship including Pearl Austin (Vice President), Kim Stephen (Secretary), Sharlene Roberts (Treasurer), Pamela Julian Harris (Asst. Secretary) and Kim Claire Maison (Asst. Treasurer).
How We Minister
It is our prayer to reach and minister to women, whether home makers, professionals, entrepreneurs or leaders. We hope to discover and develop biblical and godly resources to help disciple women in every stage of life: young, old, married, single, single moms and more, through:
- Intercessory prayer
- Personal evangelism
- Sacrificial giving and service projects
- Ministering to the needs of the vulnerable in our fellowship
- Planning programs for spiritual, personal, social and educational development
What We Do
We provide a location for assembling of our women. Here they offer their resources, life skills and experiences. In this space they also participate in intercession. Our annual Women’s Ministries Day celebration in February serves as an opportunity for us to celebrate with women across the Assemblies of God (AOG) fellowship. Some other key past and present activities of the ministry include:
- Helping Hands Project – Distribution of Love Baskets to women in the fellowship and communities as we encounter families that are in need.
- NEW! Back to School Project – Distribution of electronic tablets to children in the fellowship and FAOG outstations to support the education of our children.
- NEW! Annual Women’s Investment Webinar. Follow us on Facebook.
- Virtual Panel Discussions on Health and Nutrition, Agriculture, Healing and Deliverance, Women and Mental Health, Patience, etc.
- Mother’s Day Take Away Lunch
- Annual Tea Party and Fashion Show
- KidsZone – Ministering to children in the Wortmanville community and distribution of Christmas gifts to all Outstation members’ children.
