You Can’t Miss This – WIW 2022

Guarding the deposit entrusted to you; an impactful investment webinar awaits

Women’s Investment Webinar (WIW) 2022 promises to establish purpose within women and their desires to achieve financial literacy and financial freedom in today’s society. This third annual Investment Webinar is set to be hosted October 21-23, 2022, under the theme “Entrusted with Treasure”.

This event is hosted by women for women and facilitated by the First Assembly of God church in Wortmanville, Georgetown. This year’s theme is rooted in the Scripture text 2 Timothy 1:14 “Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.”

Two years ago, the world was bogged down by a deadly pandemic that essentially changed how we live. That included a major shift, which saw people, especially women, moving from being employees to entrepreneurs and employers. Others tapped into their fullest potential and ascended to high-level jobs with the responsibility of handling and managing finances. Noticing this, Bishop Murtland Raphael Massiah shared his heart with his cadre of leaders – a desire to see the birth of a platform where women in the business and finance sectors can interact and benefit from the wealth of knowledge available among us.

Shortly after that, in October 2020, the inaugural Women’s Investment Webinar was hosted virtually in Georgetown, Guyana, and broadcast worldwide. Faith and prayer remain the hallmark of the initiative’s success since the webinar concept was relatively new, and many people were still learning to manoeuvre with technology and access information online. Nevertheless, many people testified of being inspired by the theme at that time, “She Considers a Field and Buys It,” with reference to the Proverbs 31 woman in Scripture.

This set the tone, and many small businesses were birthed out of that initial webinar. The momentum intensified in 2021, with the theme “Reclaiming Your Inheritance”, which motivated women to defy the odds, be courageous and represent their own interests properly. Now 2022’s webinar will continue to blaze the trail as a mechanism to help women recognise their God-given gifting and take charge of their destinies.

What makes this year’s webinar exciting is a new addition – a virtual workshop on the event’s second day. This will be a morning session where new business ideas will be incubated, and start-up businesses will be nurtured. Also, new faces will be gracing the screen, including locally based Management, Leadership and Administration Specialists Denise Pearson and Vanessa Thompson and Mental Health Specialist from Ohio, USA, Marcia Walker.

“We believe women have received a charge from God to stand strong and be faithful, courageous under fire,…”. Minister Shevone Corbin

The three-night sessions will return with a new focus each night. Amazing insights on the overarching theme, Entrusted with Treasure, a walkthrough on how you can discover your potential and, in the end, be released to prosper, is ultimately the goal of this year’s webinar. Panellists and the planning committee are already raving about this upcoming event, and it is one that you should not miss.

In an invited comment, President of the Women’s Ministries, Minister Hazel Jackman said attendees could expect “The dissemination of useful information that will empower while addressing individual needs such as self-confidence and personal development. It’s not just about money talk; we will also address mental health and spiritual upliftment, giving tips that can be applied to everyday life.”

One of the presenters, Minister Shevone Corbin, who is an International Finance Specialist, noted that this is one of the things she is passionate about. She further referenced this year’s concept by stating, “We believe women have received a charge from God to stand strong and be faithful, courageous under fire, humble and prayerful despite the challenges.”

The general objectives of this year’s webinar are to stimulate introspection and activate the innate skills and abilities in women, continue the focus on biblical imperatives that will put into effect the teachings done each night while emphasising that every woman has gifts to contribute to the world and to remind attendees that lifelong learning is essential for gaining self-esteem. The intention is also to create a space where practical ideas and experiences can be shared to encourage women to move beyond their usual levels of thinking, opening their minds to a new world of hope and possibilities.

The previous webinars have secured a viewership of more than 300 LIVE viewers and an even much larger audience who would have watched recorded broadcasts in varying time zones and at different times long after their official airing.
