“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” – Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV)
Often, as children of God, we become despondent when God does not resolve the situation as we expect, as seen with Julia, who’s a firm believer.
Julia would normally pray for another person’s problem and see the hand of God move swiftly, giving victory and good success. But for some uncomprehending reason, it seems that whenever she prays about her own circumstances, God may not always show up on time and even work it out differently.
In one instance, she prayed and fasted for God to provide the funds to clear the outstanding debts and put the remainder into the small business she had just embarked on. She declared that the Lord is her Shepherd and she shall not want, according to Psalm 23.
After a while, she felt that some generational curses were plaguing her and God was not answering her prayer. The enemy brought fear and doubt to her mind, causing her to reach out to an unlikely source rather than earnestly holding fast to her confession of who God is and to His Word. This was a grave mistake!
Brethren, at all times, continue to decree and declare boldly and with confidence that if we ask anything according to God’s will, “…He heareth us,” (1st John 5:14, KJV) even as He did on the very first day Daniel prayed and was persistent for an answer. (Daniel 10:12). And if we know that God hears us, just as Abraham, who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he is the father of many nations (Romans 4:18), why are we not boldly exercising our faith?
Do not stagger at the promises of God, but remember, whatsoever we petition in Jesus’ name, He has the power through His Father to complete it (John 14:13-14).
My friends, if you start in spirit, you must finish in the spirit, knowing that God is answering while we yet speak. Praise be to His name.
