“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9 (NKJV)
I love listening to music and worshipping God. I came across a song by Victoria Orenze recently, “I Get Backing,” that really ministered to me. The song speaks to the fact that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are always supporting us because He lives within us.
I remember one midday, as I was about to go out, I learnt that a delivery had to be made to my home and that my children would be home alone. But our caring God worked it out. I was delayed just a few minutes to accommodate that matter.
How would you have responded? Would you have behaved irritably? Cancel the delivery?
I learnt that delays are aligned with God’s purpose, just as breakthroughs are.
Today, declare: God, let every delay align with Your purpose for my life.
God spoke to Joshua and commanded, “…Be strong and of good courage.” He’s saying the same to you, but you must believe His Word. That delay or setback is not the end but the beginning of something greater. God is moulding and forming you for His purpose and glory, not yours.
He never sends you out before preparing you, nor promotes you before exposing you to different levels of challenges; don’t be discouraged, he’s equipping you for battle. Listen to and obey Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word that encourages and promotes. Forgive me for not believing Your Word for my life. I repent. I am grateful that You never leave me, and now I know, Your Word is alive and sharper than any two-edged sword. Let Your Word be a strong bulwark for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
