“So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord…makes us more and more like Him…” – 2nd Corinthians 3:18 (NLT)
To grow in Christ speaks of having an intimate relationship with Him. It’s not just knowing about Him, but knowing Him. The more you know Him, the more you’re like Him. The more you’re like Him, the more His character, wisdom, and glory are expressed through your life. This is true Christianity. Your walk with God must remain personal and intimate.
You must never take your eyes away from the Lord. Because the more you adhere to the Word of God, the more your conduct imitates Him.
Remember Peter’s experience walking on the water toward Jesus? As long as he kept his eyes on Jesus, he was on the water. But the moment Peter looked away and became conscious of the wind and waves, he began to sink. (Matthew 14:29-30).
This is an instructive lesson for every Christian. As long as you keep your focus on the Lord, you’ll walk above the circumstances of life. You’ll walk above corruption, deception, fear, limitation, anxiety, depression, and anything that is unlike God.
Being a Christian is a call to walk on water and to be thrown into the fiery furnace. It is also a call to look away from the natural elements, circumstances, pressures, and challenges of this world, and unto Christ Jesus!
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for allowing me to have fellowship with You and for transforming me by Your Spirit. Help me to magnify Your excellence, beauty, wisdom, and glory. Help me to glorify You continually. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
