Can I Thank You Enough?

“Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise You! I will praise You as long as I live…” – Psalm 63:3-4 (NLT)

I’ve seen the goodness of God in my life. I’m surrounded by His loving kindness and nurtured by His tender mercies. They are too numerous to record, but I’ll still mention a few.

When I lie down, I go to sleep in peace, You alone, O Lord, keep me perfectly safe just like the Psalmist in Psalm 4:8 declares. There were times I felt afraid that my physical security measures were insufficient, but You Lord, stayed true to Your Word. Sleep, peace and perfect safety remain my portion. My faithful God, can I thank you enough?

There were times I suffered hunger, regretting those times I willfully wasted food, thereby taking Your provision for granted. Still, You never gave up on me. Because of Your tender mercies, Lord, I’m living and can say like the Psalmist: “I’m fully satisfied – as with a rich dinner. My mouth speaks praise with joy on my lips” (Psalm 63:5 – CEB). Dearest Father, how can I say thank you enough?

I’ve made many choices, some good, others not, regardless, I’ve always experienced Your faithfulness. You just never leave me or forsake me, Lord. “If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.” (Psalms 139:8 – NKJV). Oh, Lord, can I express my gratitude enough?

Lord, You are familiar with all my ways. I’m an open book to You. Everything on my mind, good or bad, is plain to You. Even from a distance, you know my thoughts. Before I start the first sentence, You know everything I’m going to say. Whether I sit or rise, go out or come in, You are there. Your omniscience and reassuring presence are too wonderful! Lord, can I take it all in? How can I really say thank You enough?

Your ways, Lord, are beyond the reach of my understanding. My words fall short to give You the magnitude of praise and thanksgiving You so rightfully deserve. My God and my Father, I can’t say thank You enough, but I can give You my life offering perpetual praise. Praise the name of the Lord, Amen
