Trust God – He has a Plan

“For we walk by faith, not by sight”- 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)

Our Christian journey is a call to trust in the unseen – to rely on God’s promises even when circumstances say otherwise. In 2 Corinthians 5:7, Apostle Paul reminds us that our walk is not based on what we physically see or feel but on faith – unwavering trust in God’s character, will, and Word. Let’s consider two biblical characters of faith: Abraham and Peter.

1. Abraham walked into the unknown. Scripture says: “By faith Abraham, when he was called…obeyed; and he went out,  not knowing whither he went.”(Hebrews 11:8 – KJV).

Abraham is often referred to as the father of Faith. God called him to leave his homeland and travel to a place he had never seen. Abraham obeyed – not because he saw the destination, but because he trusted the One Who sent him.

Thus, faith is obedience without full understanding. Like Abraham, we’re often called to step out when the path ahead isn’t clear. But faith believes that God’s guidance is enough, even when the details are hidden.

As believers, we’re called to follow Christ daily. We may not always understand His timing, His ways, or His reasons – but we choose to trust, knowing that the One Who leads us is faithful.

2. Peter walked on Water. Scripture says: “…And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.” (Matthew 14:29 – KJV).

In a moment of bold faith, Peter stepped out of the boat to walk toward Jesus on the water. While his focus remained on Christ, he did the impossible. But when he shifted his gaze to the wind and waves, he began to sink.

Friends, let your faith fix its eyes on Jesus, not on circumstances. Sight will always show us storms, but faith sees the Saviour. Take that courageous step when your season comes. As long as you keep your eyes on Jesus – through prayer, the Word, and trust – you will not be overcome by the storms around you. Your walk must remain anchored in the unseen reality of Christ’s presence and power.

Know that faith is not the denial of reality – it is the confidence in a greater reality: God’s presence, God’s promise, and God’s power. Our Christian walk requires us to live by this truth daily.

What area of your life is God calling you to trust Him more deeply?

Prayer
Lord Jesus, help me walk by faith and not by sight. Strengthen my trust in Your Word and in Your promises, even when I cannot see the way ahead. Teach me to follow You like Abraham and keep my eyes fixed on You like Peter. Lead me deeper into Your will so that I may walk securely in Your love. Amen.
