At Jesus’ Feet, Right Decisions Are Made

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

Who you will become and who you will spend the rest of your life with are two critical decisions that require guidance and direction from the Lord. When pondering on these decisions and others, we should not make choices in the flesh, but rather, allow our spirits to connect with the Holy Spirit, who will guide us to the truth.

At times, conflict arises between what we want for ourselves, what we believe is right for us, and what God wills for us. The resolution to this conflict (want vs. will) is for us to take the position of humility and sit at the feet of the Master Planner, Jesus, to receive clear instructions. One wrong decision made in the flesh can throw us off course, and we can find ourselves along a path that God did not intend for us to walk (Proverbs 14:12).

While the promise of redemption is always available if we stray away (Romans 8:28, 1st John 1:9), it is always better to do what God desires. Let us strive to pursue relationships that are pleasing in His sight and serve in the area of ministry in the vineyard where He leads us. In our pursuits, we will become who God called us to be and also fulfil our purpose.

Be encouraged to approach God in humility. Let us take the lowly position, which happens to be the best position, and wait at the feet of Jesus so that He will help us make the right decisions that impact our present and future.
