Hope in the Storm

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you…” – John 14:27 (KJV)

As we live our lives, we will always encounter storms (trials). Even though we are children of the Most High God, we are not exempt from these occurrences. They are allowed by God Himself in order to enable our growth and development as believers in Christ Jesus.

What is really important, however, is our attitude throughout the trials. We can either allow them to build up our faith in God or become complaining and distracted. Jesus has promised to always be with us. He has promised to never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). This is a promise of encouragement that no matter what is happening in our lives, He is always going to be with us. This is assurance that we can call on Him for strength to go through any situation. If we call, He will hear, and if He hears, then He will answer.

He has also promised that the Holy Spirit will guide us. Herein, we need to have confidence that whatever He says in His Word, He will perform it. In Matthew 17:20, He says that if we have faith as small as a mustard seed, we will be able to do the seemingly impossible. Let us be encouraged to stay focused and trust our Father. We can overcome any storm for God is faithful. Do you believe?

Prayer

Father, thank You for the storms You have allowed. I pray for Your divine strength in them. I am weak, but You are strong, and I trust You to help me overcome and to be what You will have me to be. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
